Antoine Semenyo has put an end to summer transfer rumours by signing a new five-year contract with Bournemouth, committing his future to the south coast club amid interest from several Premier League giants.

The Ghanaian forward, who enjoyed a standout 2024/2025 campaign with 13 goals and seven assists in 42 appearances, had been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham.

But the 25-year-old has now pledged his loyalty to the Cherries, much to the delight of fans at the Vitality Stadium.

“A great place to be” – Semenyo thrilled to stay

Speaking after putting pen to paper, Semenyo said: “I’ve grown so much at the club, both on and off the pitch, and I’m really happy to have signed ahead of returning for pre-season.”

“From the fans to the staff and my teammates, I can’t speak highly enough of the people around the club. It’s a great place to be and I’m excited to get back to Bournemouth and continue the hard work with the new season just around the corner.”

Bournemouth delighted with renewal

Bournemouth’s president of football operations, Tiago Pinto, hailed Semenyo as a “crucial” part of the club’s progress.

“Antoine has been crucial to the club’s progress and is a key member of the project here at Vitality Stadium,” Pinto said.

“We have a great relationship with Antoine and we’re looking forward to continuing that as we hope to build on a record-breaking season. His commitment to the club matches our ambition and I’m excited to see what can be achieved as we prepare for the new campaign.”

From Bristol City to Bournemouth’s star man

Semenyo joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in January 2023 and has since made 89 appearances, netting 22 goals.

Despite last summer signing a five-year deal, his blistering form this season had put top-flight clubs on alert.

Reports suggest Bournemouth valued him at around £70 million, underlining their determination to keep hold of their prized asset.

With Semenyo now secured, the Cherries can focus on building on their impressive campaign as they prepare for the 2025/2026 Premier League season.
