Bryan Mbeumo open to Spurs move after Thomas Frank appointment

Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo is reportedly considering a switch to Tottenham Hotspur following the arrival of his former boss, Thomas Frank, as the club’s new head coach.

The 25-year-old Cameroonian forward, who netted 20 Premier League goals last season, is in high demand this summer.

Manchester United saw a £45m bid plus £10m in add-ons rejected earlier this month, with Brentford holding out for a fee exceeding £60m.

Now, Tottenham have opened talks with the Bees over a potential deal, capitalising on Frank’s appointment to lure the prolific winger to north London.

However, sources suggest Mbeumo remains tempted by United’s interest, with the Red Devils expected to return with an improved offer.

A breakout season

Mbeumo’s stellar 2024/2025 campaign saw him finish as the fourth-highest scorer in the league, behind only Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak, and Erling Haaland.

His contributions were crucial in securing Brentford a top-half finish, sparking debate over whether he has outgrown the club.

Spurs’ attacking reinforcements

With new manager Thomas Frank keen to bolster his frontline, Tottenham are also monitoring Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo – another target on Ruben Amorim’s radar.

The battle for Mbeumo’s signature could intensify in the coming weeks, with both clubs eager to secure a proven Premier League goalscorer.

Will Frank’s influence be enough to sway Mbeumo towards Spurs? Or will United’s financial muscle prevail? The summer transfer window is heating up.
