Historic moment for Ghanaian badminton
This year marks a major milestone for Ghana, as the country not only hosts its first major international badminton event but also defends its title in one of five global AirBadminton World Series tournaments.
The national team will enter residential training this weekend to fine-tune their skills ahead of the championship, which also serves as a qualifier for the BWF AirBadminton World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (13-16 November 2025).
“Ghana’s biggest year in badminton history”
Evans Yeboah, President of the Badminton Association of Ghana, said: “This is Ghana’s biggest year in badminton history. We’re not just defending our title – we’re preparing to showcase African excellence when the world comes to Ghana this July.”
With Laboma Beach Resort set to welcome athletes and fans from across Africa, the event promises to be a spectacle of skill, speed, and fierce competition.
