US Firms Boost 2025 West Africa Bodybuilding Championship
The upcoming 2025 International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) West Africa Championship has received a significant financial boost, organisers have announced.
Two United States-based companies, Cut Style Barber & Beauty and BEX Brand, have teamed up with the competition to inject a cash prize of GH₵24,792.16 ($1,600) into the event.
This welcome funding will be distributed among the winners of five categories at the prestigious championship.
The top athlete in the men’s fit bodybuilding category will take home GH₵7,747.55 ($500), while the men’s physique winner will receive GH₵6,198.04 ($400).

The men’s fit classic physique champion will be awarded GH₵4,648.53 ($300), and the winners of both the women’s bikini fitness and women’s wellness categories will each receive GH₵3,099.02 ($200).
The Ghana Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (GBFA), the event’s organisers, confirmed the generous contribution from the US companies.
They stated that the IFBB has formally approved this development and expressed their gratitude. “This kind gesture [has] received the approval from the IFBB, who convey their appreciation to them,” the GBFA stated.
The GBFA also indicated that efforts are underway to secure further sponsorship to increase the overall prize money. “Meanwhile, the organisers of the event are doing everything possible to get some more support to up the cash component of the awards.”
Set to take place from April 25 to 28 at the Ga Mashie Hall within the Trust Sports Emporium in Accra, Ghana, this fourth edition of the IFBB West Africa Championship is anticipated to attract top bodybuilding talent from across the continent.

Athletes will compete in eight categories, including men’s fit bodybuilding, men’s fit classic physique, men’s classic bodybuilding, men’s physique, muscular men’s physique, women’s body fitness, women’s bikini fitness, and women’s wellness.
A coveted IFBB pro card will be awarded to the overall winner of each category, marking a significant milestone in their professional careers.
Adding to the rewards, the championship’s main sponsor, Ironman Supplements, will also provide supplement vouchers worth GH₵2,000 (around $129) to the overall winners in each category, redeemable at any of their retail locations.
This injection of cash prizes promises to further elevate the profile of the 2025 IFBB West Africa Championship, highlighting the growing enthusiasm and investment in bodybuilding and fitness across the region.
