The thrilling showdown at Academia de Ténis Kikuxi Villas Club in Luanda keeps Ghana’s flawless run alive, following their earlier 3-0 thrashing of Mauritius.

Golden Rackets in unstoppable form

The Golden Rackets delivered another dominant performance, sweeping DR Congo in straight sets to cement their place as Pool A leaders.

With this win, Ghana has already secured a playoff spot, but a victory against hosts Angola on Friday, 13 June, could set up a crucial clash with the second-place team from Pool B.

Samuel Agbesi Osei Antwi set the tone early, overpowering Christian Saidi with a 6-1 first-set win.

Though Saidi fought back in the second set, Osei Antwi held his nerve to clinch it 7-5, giving Ghana the lead.

Next up, 25-year-old Isaac Nortey faced Emmanuel William Bushamuka in a tightly contested match but sealed the deal with a 6-4, 6-4 victory, putting Ghana 2-0 up.

The doubles match saw Rafael Dowouna and Abubakari Yakubu-Lea battle DR Congo’s Arnold Ikondo Moke and Moise Kumase in a nail-biting encounter.

After two tense sets, the Ghanaian duo triumphed 7-6, 7-5, completing the clean sweep.
