Ghana names chefs de mission for 2025/2026 global sporting showdowns
The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has unveiled the chefs de mission who will lead the nation’s teams at five major international sporting events over the next two years.
From the 2025 Africa School Games in Algeria to the 2026 Youth Olympics in Senegal, these experienced officials will oversee Ghana’s delegations, ensuring athletes and support staff are well-prepared to compete on the global stage.
Key appointments for Ghana’s sporting campaigns
Each chef de mission will be responsible for managing the welfare of athletes, coaches, and officials while promoting Olympic and Commonwealth values alongside Ghanaian culture.
Their leadership will be crucial in maximising team performance across these prestigious events.
Here’s the full list of appointed leaders and their assigned events:
- Michael Ntow Ayeh – 2025 Africa School Games (Algeria, 26 July – 5 August)
- Bawah Fuseini – 2025 Africa Youth Games (Angola, December 2025)
- Mohammed Mahadi – 2026 Winter Olympics (Italy, 6–22 February)
- Ernest Danso – 2026 Commonwealth Games (Scotland, 23 July – 2 August)
- Evans Kojo Yeboah – 2026 Youth Olympic Games (Senegal, 30 October – 13 November)
GOC confident in leadership choices
In a statement, Charles Osei Asibey, GOC Director of Communications, said: “The GOC is confident that these CDMs (chefs de mission) will excel in their role, providing leadership and guidance to the teams they will lead and strive for excellence on the international stage as we look forward to supporting our athletes and officials for these Games.”
The GOC also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ghanaian athletes as they prepare to represent the nation in Algeria, Angola, Italy, Scotland, and Senegal.
