As the 2024/2025 football season draws to a close, it’s time to celebrate Ghana’s most lethal finishers lighting up pitches across the world.

From the Premier League’s fierce competition to emerging leagues where goals flow freely, Ghanaian strikers have been making their mark.

While no two leagues are the same—some demand world-class precision, others offer more chances—every goal deserves recognition.

Whether in Europe’s elite divisions or thriving elsewhere, these players have stepped up when it mattered.

So, who finished as Ghana’s deadliest striker this season? The answer might surprise you. One name stands tall with over 20 goal contributions—but does he top the list? Let’s dive in.

10. Iñaki Williams – Athletic Bilbao (11 Goals, 9 Assists)

2024/2025

Athletic Bilbao’s Iñaki Williams may not be the most prolific scorer on this list, but his all-round brilliance secures his spot.

With 11 goals and nine assists, the 29-year-old’s creative spark sets him apart from rivals on the same tally—including Heart of Lions’ Nana Kwame Oppong and Ibrahim Zubairu of FK Partizan.

Williams’ 20 goal contributions match his career best from 2018/2019, proving his enduring class in La Liga.

While others may yet surpass him in the final weeks of their seasons, his consistency earns him tenth place—for now.

9. Faisal Charwetey Nations FC (12 Goals, 1 Assist)

2024/2025

Nations FC’s decision to sign Faisal Charwetey from Akatsi AllStars has paid off spectacularly.

The 22-year-old wide forward has been instrumental in their Ghana Premier League title push, netting 12 times and providing one assist.

With Nations FC three points clear at the top and two games remaining, Charwetey is also in the Golden Boot race—just one goal behind the current leader. His rapid rise makes him one of Ghana’s most exciting young talents.

8. Kelvin Boateng First Vienna FC (12 Goals, 1 Assist)

2024/2025

Kelvin Boateng has enjoyed a career-best campaign in Austria’s second tier, netting 12 times in 20 appearances for First Vienna FC before an ankle injury cut his season short in April.

Remarkably, his goals account for 22.9% of his team’s total output, underlining his importance.

Since joining in 2023, the 25-year-old has racked up 22 goals and three assists in 46 games. But with his contract expiring this summer, could a bigger move be on the cards?

7. Kwame Poku Peterborough United (12 Goals, 11 Assists)

2024/2025

Down in England’s League One, Kwame Poku has been a revelation. The 23-year-old winger notched 12 goals and 11 assists, making him Ghana’s top goal contributor this season with 23 direct goal involvements.

Poku was unstoppable early on, netting 10 goals and providing eight assists in 18 games—including a hat-trick against Cambridge United.

A hamstring injury sidelined him from December to March, but he returned to help Peterborough lift the EFL Trophy, playing the full 90 minutes in their 2-0 final win over Birmingham City.

6. Stephen Amankona Berekum Chelsea (13 Goals, 0 Assists)

2024/2025

Ghana Premier League’s current top scorer, Stephen Amankona, claims the seventh spot on the list with 13 goals for Berekum Chelsea.

The 25-year-old winger, who finished last season as the division’s leading marksman with 19 strikes, has again been a rare bright spot in an otherwise underwhelming campaign for his mid-table side.

Amankona’s goals make up a remarkable 41.9% of Chelsea’s total output this term—proving his talismanic influence.

With just two games remaining, matching last season’s haul seems unlikely, but his predatory instincts keep him in contention for the Golden Boot once more.

5. Benjamin Tetteh – NK Maribor (13 Goals, 6 Assists)

After a torrid 2023/2024 at FC Metz—where he failed to score in 12 Ligue 1 appearances—Benjamin Tetteh reignited his career on loan at Slovenia’s NK Maribor.

The 27-year-old striker netted 11 league goals (finishing sixth in the Golden Boot race) and two in the cup, adding six assists.

This season marks his best return since 2018/2019, when he scored 11 for AC Sparta Prague. Now, with 19 goal contributions, Tetteh has re-established himself as one of Ghana’s most effective forwards.

4. Antoine Semenyo – AFC Bournemouth (13 Goals, 7 Assists)

English Premier League star Antoine Semenyo has been a revelation for Bournemouth this season. The 25-year-old’s 13 goals and seven assists helped the Cherries secure a ninth-place finish—equal to the club’s best finish back in 2016/2017.

His performances have reportedly attracted interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, and it’s easy to see why.

Semenyo’s explosive pace, intelligent movement, and improved finishing make him one of Ghana’s most dangerous forwards.

While this is his first double-digit goal season, his 20 goal contributions match his 2021/2022 season (eight goals and 12 assists) in the Championship with Bristol City, showing he’s more than just a finisher—he’s a complete attacker.

3. Ransford Königsdörffer – Hamburger SV (14 Goals, 4 Assists)

The 2. Bundesliga’s Ransford Königsdörffer takes bronze after a stellar 14-goal, four-assist campaign—helping Hamburg secure promotion back to the Bundesliga after seven years away.

The Ghana international’s 18 goal contributions mark a career high, surpassing his previous best (12) in Germany’s third tier with SG Dynamo Dresden. Now, he’ll be eager to prove himself among Europe’s elite next season.

2. Jordan Mintah – Kuching City (15 Goals, 2 Assists)

Malaysia Super League star Jordan Mintah takes second place after a career-best 15-goal campaign.

The 29-year-old’s 14 league strikes secured third in the Golden Boot race, while he helped Kuching City to quarter-final runs in both domestic competitions.

1.  Samuel Boateng – Rahmatganj MFS (16 Goals, 5 Assists)

Topping our list is Bangladesh Premier League Golden Boot winner Samuel Boateng.

The 27-year-old, a free-agent signing from Ghana Premier League giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko, scored 16 goals in 17 games—a staggering 48.6% of his team’s total output.

With five assists, he also ranked among the league’s top creators. His 21 goal contributions make him Ghana’s second-highest contributor this term—only Kwame Poku (23) fared better.

From Premier League stars to unsung heroes in Asia and Africa, Ghana’s forwards have shone across the globe.

Samuel Boateng takes the crown this season; who will dominate next season? Only time will tell—but one thing’s certain: Ghana’s goal machines aren’t slowing down.
